Use a conversation to explore data or ask Dawn to build and change workspace assets. The agent can inspect information and take actions, so be explicit about whether you want a plan, an analysis, or a change.

Give the task a clear starting point

Choose New conversation and use Add context or image beside the message box to select the relevant assets. Include the dataset for an analysis, the pipeline for a repair, or the connection for source discovery. A useful instruction states the outcome, scope, business rules, and expected output:
Use Split mode to view the asset and conversation together. Check the selected conversation and attachments when changing tasks.

Work in short, checkable steps

  1. Ask Dawn to inspect the data and explain its structure.
  2. Resolve unclear definitions or missing information.
  3. Request the analysis or proposed change.
  4. Inspect tool results and generated assets.
  5. Ask a focused follow-up or save the result in a reusable form.
For edits, state which asset should change and which result you expect. For consequential changes, ask to review the proposal before execution.

Check the answer

Expand relevant tool results. Check the data source, date range, filters, grouping, units, and treatment of missing values. Reconcile at least a small part of the result with known records. Tool use helps ground an answer in data; it does not guarantee that the question was interpreted correctly. Ask Dawn to explain a surprising total or show the calculation behind it.

Save work and knowledge

  • Use a Dashboard for interactive exploration.
  • Use a Report for a written explanation.
  • Use a Pipeline for repeatable data or modelling steps.
  • Use a Job for recurring agent instructions.
  • Use Context for facts and instructions that should apply beyond the conversation.
